Make your own folio cheese wraps12/29/2023 It’s been reasonably easy however I do adore carbs and I never thought I would ever dream of baguettes but I have! My goal is another 12 lbs in the next six weeks but I’m also planning a significant cheat day or two at the end of the month for my birthday… My natural inclination is to consume too much protein and not enough vegetables as well as too much calorie dense foods like cheese and nuts. I’ve lost 18 lbs or 8.5% of my body weight so far. 5-6 days of the week I also do IF, usually eating between 11:30 and 6:30. I’ve been doing keto for 4 weeks, but a virtual dinner party with my wine group a week in totally took me back to ground zero. Just some thoughts on what worked for me off the top of my head… On my days off it was harder to maintain that, but usually I’d use nuts or cold cut cheese wrap to hold me over to my one big meal (not at 10!) So often it was one meal a day at 10pm and I could use all my carbs then. My lifestyle is unfortunate in that when I work it’s 12 hour days no break, so I am used to not eating anything until 10pm when I get home. Its not perfect of course, but it allows me to enjoy the flavors I love on occasion with minimal carbs. Now that I’m not so strict I use it under low carbs based Asian food instead of rice. 5 carbs per serving and I find it quite good (my wife doesn’t). For me I wanted to lose the weight first and then reevaluate how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.Īnother hit palate wise for me and one I will continue eating is Liviva pasta in the edamame form. I understand The thoughts that you should just take the bread out mentally if you want to live Keto. The hamburger buns are very acceptable with Flannery when you are craving that burger. Franz will toast nice for grilled cheese or any sandwich/toast. Aldi’s version is not bad either in a pinch. ![]() I also tried all the Keto bread i could including baking my own but found these guys to be the best by far. It dissolves basically without any heat into simple syrup too. I also tried many many sugar subs and this one the best for my palate. Speaking of tequila will make you a fine margarita. With those Mexican becomes possible too, add 1/2 bag of Quest chips (2gm) and for say 6-7 carbs (hint of veg/cheese/salsa/hotsauce) I was good. I’m quite sure they aren’t “clean” in a strict sense but they worked. There are great tasting low carb tortillas that only cost 3 carbs, or small ones for 1.5 though. After awhile the egg ones became too much. I used EggLife and folio cheese wraps for a bit. Also I love eggs so breakfast burritos (and all breakfast…omelets ect for that matter) I can eat just fine anytime. Of course meat, yet I tired of bacon fast and I’m not a huge steak eater, but I’m big on chicken and sausage. My regular rest of the year diet is keto-like about 80% of the time, as I mentioned earlier. Finally, refined grains can come back into the equation as treats. If there are no issues, I can start to include a small amount of fruit and whole grains. After a week or two of just doing that, I start adding some starchier, but high fiber vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes occasionally, to get my digestion accustomed to the added fiber. This alone can almost double the amount of carbs I have in a day, since I LOVE vegetables. I start by letting myself eat as much as I want (no longer limiting) of the same keto vegetables I’ve been eating. I find all or nothing easier when it comes to wine - it’s just not fun for me to have a glass - so we’re going to look at doing a weekend only approach until he’s down to where he wants to be.Įdited to add, for the benefit of anyone in the same boat as I am: coming off Keto should be a gradual process.
